ABOUT
US
|
| In
April 1985, Yusen established its first presence
in Canada - a sales and operations office
in Toronto. While still a branch office of
Yusen Air & Sea Service (USA), Inc., the
Toronto operation sparked our growth in Canada
that continues to this day. This was the cornerstone
of a growth pattern that continues to this
day. |
|

|
As
part of our expansion plan, we became a
Canadian corporation in September 1988.
This was an important step in securing a
'Canadian Identity' and a platform for expanding
the various types of services we offer.
The following year, our Vancouver branch
was opened to capitalize on expanding trade
between Western Canada and the Pacific Rim
countries.
In
1990, we obtained our license to operate
a customs brokerage in Canada. This milestone
allowed us to handle customer's shipments
on a door-to-door basis.
|
|
| Our
Montreal branch was opened in March of 1997
to better serve clients based in Quebec and
Eastern Canada. In May of the same year, we
expanded our warehouse in Vancouver to accommodate
increased air imports and warehousing/distribution
business. |
|
In
1998, we achieved our ISO 9002 certification
- a true indication that we strive to continually
improve the quality of our services provided
to customers.

|
| Yusen
Air & Sea Service (Canada) Inc. arranged
for and coordinated a full 3PL (third party
logistics) facility for an automotive parts
manufacturer in late 1999. This facility,
located in Toronto, receives 'JIT' (just-in-time)
inventories from several points of origin
and then prepares orders and daily deliveries
based on instructions from our client. Time
and accuracy are of the essence since shortages,
damages or delays could hold up a production
line. The satisfaction shown by our client
as well as the end user is a statement of
confidence and appreciation in the professionalism
and adaptability Yusen brings to each and
every project. |
|
| In
August 2001, our Canadian Headquarters &
Toronto Branch moved into a state-of-the-art,
100,000 square foot facility in Brampton,
Ontario. This company owned asset was designed
to best accommodate the growing demand for
3PL (third party logistics) and growth in
our warehousing/distribution business. Canada
Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA) granted
us a license in July 2002 to operate a bonded
warehouse. This gives us complete control
of all import cargo into the Toronto market. |
|
| Our
steady pattern of growth and success continues
and we very much appreciate the support of
our wide range of customers - from small enterprises
to multi-nationals. We at Yusen, pride ourselves
in having continuity - with respect to customer
and vendor relationships as well as that of
our workforce. We are proud to say that we
have many "long-term" employees
that have grown along with us. The dedicated
staff at Yusen Air & Sea Service (Canada)
Inc. is here to service the needs of our clientele.
